Gameloft is back at it with the release of Asphalt Overdrive
onto Android. In the game, which is set in a modern adaptation of the 80s, you
race sexy import cars that were the cream of the crop back in the day,
including the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari Testarossa. Much like Gameloft’s
other racing titles, it won’t be the most realistic game you have ever played,
but at the speed you travel in the environments they set you in, you will come
to find out that it is better off being a bit more cartoonish.
For lovers of games where you must work your way through
countless challenges in order to escape an evil place, Hellraid: The Escape is
the ultimate game for you. Set in an evil sorcerer’s dungeon, you must fight
your way through Hell, defeating demons, figuring out difficult puzzles, and
trying not to lose your lunch over the horrible acts of torture you witness.
The game is sort of dark, but for a few of you, that’s probably a bonus.
A sequel to the original Oscura which launched for Android years
ago, the developers show their visionary growth in Oscura: Second Shadow. The
game is a platformer, based on a rodent hero who must overcome the darkness in
his land. While there are plenty of evil-looking baddies, you must make sure
not to fight them, as any encounter will leave you dead. Instead, use your
time-warping skills to out maneuver them, reaching the end of levels with as
many light crystals as you can gather.
The game costs $3.51 in Google Play, a good price for this well
developed title.
As a viral smash hit title, Goat Simulator puts you in the
hooves of a crazy goat, bent on destroying the world. However, we aren’t
talking world domination here. Instead, we are talking about causing car
accidents, blowing up houses and gas stations, while causing as much
mayhem as possible with our eerily stretchable tongue. The game is a serious
trip for animal lovers.
Priced at $4.99, the game promises you hours of crazy antics
while playing as an adorable goat.
Another platformer to launch onto Google Play this past month is
Unmechanical. In this title, you play as a little helicopter robot who must
solve puzzles made from various machinery inside of a living world. You must
collect certain pieces such as fuses, light sources, and gears to overcome the
obstacles that await you. Set in a well-designed world coupled with cool music,
Unmechanical is a great game for kids and adults.
